East Coast miscellany
(Oct 16, 2009)
Here’s a little grab bag of images from my amazing trip to the East Coast. Despite just getting back, I already have work I need to start chipping away at. I’ll have lots of wicked awesome calendar stuff up next week.
Massachusetts:
Sugarloaf Mountain
Some sketches while chilling at the Book Mill
From a beautiful kitchen window looking at cows in the morning fog.
And New York:
Erica, myself, & Lillian
The Flatiron Building, where the First Second offices are located.
MK, Calista, & myself after a serious lunch meeting. Notice how gross I was wearing the same clothes the whole time I was in NY.
The reading was fun – Bergen Street Comics was an awesome store. We had a nice, cozy crowd that laughed at our jokes and a lot of old friends I knew from SCAD showed up that I hadn’t seen in a long time, which was super rad. It was also really great to meet my editor, Calista Brill, and pick her brain and learn about what the process of editing the book will be like and other behind the scenes publishing stuff.
Oh, and good news: Americus will be coming out in 2011 and not 2012!

I know this is old news to some people, but I just finished reading Monsters. You really, really need to check it out.

Looks like you had a great trip. Looking forward to seeing your calendar work.
